About
Hi there, I’m Liam Elliott — solution architect, trail runner, and homebrewer based in Sydney, Australia.
Encubed Solutions — Founder & Chief Problem Solver
I founded Encubed Solutions with one key purpose: to engage, enable and enrich Australian businesses through custom-built tech. No offshore, no outsourcing — just local talent solving real problems for local businesses.
With over 20 years of experience in the software industry, I specialise in business development, stakeholder management, solution architecture and delivery. I’ve worked with clients across industries to address their unique challenges with tailored software — including:
- Building the sales platform for Channel 9, which continues to drive billions in revenue for the network
- Developing digital-twin tools for Lendlease
- Enabling the growth of businesses of all sizes right across Australia
I’m a pivotal member of numerous high-profile software projects and a sought-after speaker at industry conferences. My commitment to excellence is reflected in my adaptability, communication skills and relentless pursuit of enriching knowledge.
Beer Driven Devs — Co-host & Co-founder
I’m the co-host of The Beer Driven Devs podcast — a conversational tech podcast with a beer twist. We talk shop, drink beer, and keep it real. No corporate polish, just honest conversations about software, teams, and the industry.
New episodes drop regularly. Come for the tech, stay for the beer.
Hobbies
I firmly believe that to truly appreciate anything, you must go back to first principles. From making your own ice cream, pizza bases and pasta dough through to crafting my own beer — understanding the process, the unique characteristics of each ingredient, and the role they play in achieving the final product adds to the enjoyment. I often say I far more enjoy the process of making beer than drinking it.
That same first-principles philosophy extends to photography, where I use a large format camera to shoot, process and develop analogue black and white film.
Trail Running
Since taking up trail running in 2013, I’ve regularly participated in some of the most amazing trail running events in Australia. There’s nothing quite like the Blue Mountains at 3am to give you perspective.
